Randy and Brian Pack of Pack Brothers Hospitality had been looking for a place to expand their operations since 2012 after their most recent expansion at their family restaurant, hotel and marina, Smithfield Station. They looked in many places from Charleston, SC to Jamestown, VA to Manteo, NC. All of the places viewed had a fault or two that kept the brothers from diving in.

In the winter of 2018, Surry County, never before on the radar, approached the brothers about taking over The Surry Seafood Co. and they were all ears. Here was a property close enough to their home that offers hotel rooms, a marina, and a great seafood restaurant! On May 1, 2018 Pack Brothers Hospitality took over operations and after a bit of revamping opened its doors to the residents and visitors of Surry County.

From day one, the county wanted a place that could be their showcase and where they would be excited to bring their guests and Pack Brothers Hospitality made this their goal. In addition to the incredible indoor and outdoor seating this prime location offers, there are 45 gorgeous, brand new floating docks offering fuel (both gas and diesel), and a boaters bath house on Gray’s Creek just off the James River. The restaurant offers 100 seat indoor dining with bar and 54 seat outdoor deck, and four hotel suites above with terrific views of the creek and marshes. In keeping with what the brothers have created at Smithfield Station in Smithfield, the new management hopes to truly create a true showpiece for the citizens of Surry County.

Pack Brothers Hospitality has more in the works! Randy and Brian Pack will open 37 North at Fort Monroe in the spring of 2025, that will host two restaurants, a 300 slip marina and boutique hotel on Historic Fort Monroe. Additionally, a new brew pub concept in Smithfield, VA is planned for 2024 , and will expand their brand with an Authentic Mexican inspired Taco and Tequila Bar in 2026.
